Team Stadium Guide: Maximizing Winter Scores
While the Champions Meeting (CM) is the “glory” mode of Uma Musume, the Team Stadium (Class Matches) is the bread and butter. It is your primary source of Jewels, Friendship Points, and Support Pt. Every Monday, the anxiety sets in: Will I maintain Class 6? Or will I be demoted to the shame of Class 5?
This winter, the scoring cutoff for Class 6 has skyrocketed. The average score required to stay safe is now pushing 1,000,000 points. If you are struggling to hit these numbers despite having UG/UE rank horses, you might be falling into the “Stat Trap.”
In this guide, we will break down the scoring algorithm, explain why your S-rank racer is scoring like a D-rank, and how to optimize your team specifically for the Winter season rotation.
The Scoring Algorithm: It’s Not Just About Winning
Winning the race is important, but in Team Stadium, how you race matters more.
Precision Scoring Breakdown
Your final score is calculated from several buckets:
- Placement Score: 1st place gets the most, obviously.
- Time Score: Beating the course record.
- Skill Activation Score: THIS IS THE BIG ONE.
- White Skill: ~400 pts.
- Gold Skill: ~1200 pts.
- Unique Skill: ~2000 pts.
- Position Score: Being in the lead pack at specific checkpoints.
- Start Dash: Triggering a perfect start.
The Golden Rule: A racer who finishes 1st with 2 skills activated will score roughly 10,000 points. A racer who finishes 3rd but activates 15 skills will score 25,000 points.
Team Stadium is not a race. It is a fireworks display. Your goal is to trigger as many shiny lights as possible.
The “Skill Spam” Strategy
To maximize points, you need to abandon the efficient builds you use for Champions Meeting. CM builds focus on “Valid Acceleration” – skills that trigger at the perfect time to win. Team Stadium builds focus on “Easiest Activation” – skills that trigger, period.
Cheap White Skills are King
Instead of buying one expensive Gold skill like “Arc Maestro” (unless you need the heal), buy 4 cheap white skills.
- CM Mindset: “I won’t buy ‘Corner Recovery’ because I already have enough stamina.”
- Team Stadium Mindset: “I will buy ‘Corner Recovery’ because it costs 70 pts and gives me 400 score.”
Focus on High-Percentage Triggers
Prioritize skills with conditions that are almost guaranteed to be met:
- “Activate at start of race”: Concentration, Groundwork. Free points at 0:00.
- “Activate on ANY corner”: Corner Prof, Arc Maestro.
- “Activate on ANY straight”: Straight Prof.
- “Activate when passing someone”: Good for Leaders/Chasers.
Avoid skills with strict conditions like “Activate if you are exactly 5th place and it is raining and you are afraid of ghosts.”
Optimizing for Winter Season
The Team Stadium tracks rotate. Currently, we are in the Winter rotation, which heavily favors Nakayama and Tokyo tracks, often with Snow (Heavy) conditions.
1. Winter Green Skills
Equip your team with:
- Winter Uma Musume: Speed boost during winter.
- Snowy Day: Stamina/Guts boost.
- These are incredibly cheap to buy (often ~70-90 pts) and trigger reliably in this rotation.
2. The Dirt Problem
The Dirt category is often the hardest to score high in because viable Dirt racers are rare.
- Strategy: Don’t try to win Dirt. Just try to survive and spam skills.
- Use fully awakened Haru Urara. Her unique skill heals, allowing her to cast more spells (skills) without fainting. Even if she finishes last, if she casts 10 skills, she contributes more than a winner with 2 skills.
The Position Strategy: Don’t block yourself
One common mistake is running three characters with the same strategy (e.g., 3 Leaders).
- The Problem: They fight for the same position. Skill conditions like “behind a racer” or “leaders of the pack” might conflict.
- The Solution: Spread your roles.
- Run 1 Runner (Score mainly from Start Dash and Lead position).
- Run 1 Leader (Score from overtaking and mid-pack skills).
- Run 1 Chaser (Score from Late Spurt and overtaking 10 people).
Item Support: The Parfait Boost
Don’t hoard your items. Use the Score UP items (Pre-race parfaits/cupcakes).
- A 20% Score Bonus item on a team that normally scores 500k turns it into 600k. That 100k difference is the gap between Class 5 and Class 6.
- Use them when you see a favorable matchup (e.g., an enemy team with low evaluation scores). It ensures the Win Streak bonus stays alive.
Recommended “Score Farm” Characters
These characters have unique skills that are easy to trigger and excellent growth rates for point farming.
- Nice Nature (Original):
- Low status requirements, easy to build. Her unique triggers on the final straight regardless of winning, as long as she passes someone.
- Vodka:
- Her skills chain well on the Tokyo straight.
- Symboli Rudolf:
- The “Emperor” unique gives a massive score boost and is visually spectacular.
- Agnes Tachyon:
- Her unique is a heal. Heals are great for scoring because they ensure you have the stamina to activate other skills at the end of the race.
Conclusion
Climbing to Class 6 is a badge of honor. Maintaining it is a part-time job. But by shifting your philosophy from “Winning Speed” to “Skill Volume,” you can artificially inflate your score.
Stop building fast horses. Build loud horses. Fill their skill list until it looks like a grocery receipt. That is the key to the Winter Season.
Go forth and spam skills, Trainers!
